My grandfather wore the same shearling-lined deerskin gloves for decades. Every crease and scar told a story.
Instead of wearing out, the leather softened and moulded to his hands. Time had only made them better.

Looking for something similar today, I found synthetic materials, short product cycles and gear designed to be thrown away.
